One of the most frustrating things for network marketers is making cold calls and getting zero results. Most likely they spend hard earned money on those expensive lead lists. And of course everyone attends those hotel meetings; not to mention trying to recruit family and friends. Those old ineffective methods of prospecting are over. Building your business the way you've always done it, is totally obsolete. It's an irrelevant, old-school sales methodology that is only used by marketers who are unfamiliar with attraction-based sponsoring and recruiting. Most people today dislike being approached or solicited. It makes the marketer look unprofessional and they are sometimes met with anger. Folk just don't want to know about your business out of the blue. The old way of prospecting does not work in today's market. But now that just about everyone is using the internet, there is a huge window of opportunity for today's marketer. One can take an idea, or even their casual hobby and create a thriving business with very little money out of pocket. But the numbers say that 95% of those who start a home business will fail. The number one reason for failing is that they didn't acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today's modern, competitive market place. So what's the secret, or the key, to being able to make as a successful marketer today? Glad you asked! Well here's the answer, plain and simple. You're in business to sell something and to get other people to join you team. Wouldn't it be much easier to have them welcome you or invite you to talk to them about it? It's much more effective than you going after them over and over again. So when it comes to building your business, you can do one of two things... 1. You can simply play the numbers game and contact enough people until you make a sale through traditional old-school cold-calling, which is the way those 95% of home business owners who fail take; 2. You can position yourself so that interested prospects try to find you, and contact you instead of you finding them. The second way is, of course, is much more effective and puts you in the position of an expert in your field. This is perception (and truth) very valuable to those looking for a solid business opportunity. When using this approach the prospect is now seeking you out to buy your goods or services. Otherwise you'll be hunting them down asking them to buy from you or join you. While everyone else is still trying to sell, sell, sell, you're not involved in selling any longer. Now it's all about attraction and positioning. Again it is extremely valuable to be in a position as a knowledgable service provider that is being sought after. If you prepare yourself correctly you can be that individual that is sought after. Now when you make a phone call, people are excited that you called. The old days of getting hung-up can be over.
