Can multivitamins kill you?!

If you've kept up with the news this week you'll have found it hard to ignore the latest research which claims that taking vitamin supplements can increase your chance of death.
Please DON'T panic! I haven't been trying to put you in an early grave all these years by telling you to take a multivitamin daily.
Taking your average daily multivitamin capsule or tablet won't do you any harm. Many people are panicking, worried that they've been doing themselves more harm than good in taking these pills.
What is potentially harmful is the taking of high dosage, high strength supplements, high in Vitamin A and E.
By taking your average daily multivitamin you are merely making up for any small shortfalls in your current diet. You are NOT trying to paper over the cracks of a terrible diet.
The answer to prolonged life is regular exercise and healthy eating, 90% of which should come from fresh, unprocessed foods.
So, if like many of my clients, you are taking a daily multivitamin, feel free to carry on, unless you can honestly say that 9 times out of 10 your diet is exemplary...
